what stress steals from you

Welcome back to Sunday Goods! I'm so happy you're here!

If I’ve learned anything lately, it’s that stress is one of the most damaging things we carry — and somehow, we carry it like it’s normal.

It shows up in our sleep, our skin, our stomachs, our moods - EVERYTHING! It convinces us we have to keep pushing even when our bodies are begging us to slow down.

And the worst part is, we don’t even question it — we just call it "life."

But the truth is, stress isn’t something we’re meant to live in.
We weren’t built for constant survival mode.

This week, I’ve been thinking about what it means to actually protect our peace — not just in a cute quote kind of way, but in a real, foundational way. Peace doesn’t mean you’re ignoring hard things or pretending everything’s okay. It means you’re giving yourself permission to move through life differently - slower, softer, with more intention.

Peace can be the way you begin, not just what you hope for after everything settles down.

It can look like:

  • Letting go of a plan that’s causing more anxiety than excitement.

  • Saying no, even when it feels uncomfortable.

  • Breathing through a spiral instead of fighting it.

  • Giving yourself the same patience you give everyone else.

We talk about wellness like it’s all about routines and rituals — but honestly? It’s also learning how to not spiral when things don’t go to plan. At the end of the day, your nervous system needs safety more than aesthetics. And peace? That’s safety. That’s the grounding. That’s the real self-care.

I’m not saying peace fixes everything — it doesn’t. But it can hold you steady while you work through the rest. It can help you feel again instead of just function. And that matters more than we give it credit for.

So maybe this week is about coming back to that place inside yourself that isn’t ruled by panic or pressure. Maybe it’s about learning to trust the calm.

Let peace be your foundation — not because everything is okay, but because you deserve to be.

With care,

Elle
