there's a special kind of freedom enjoying your own company

Welcome back to Sunday Goods!
There’s a quiet kind of magic that happens when you realize you’re okay with being alone.
Not lonely - just alone.
No distractions, no background noise of conversation, no performance for others. Just you—and you. Your thoughts, your silence, your cup of coffee, your stretch of the day ahead & for maybe the first time in a while, it feels like enough.
In a world that moves fast and talks louder, choosing your own company can feel rebellious.
We’re constantly told we need to be surrounded, seen, invited, validated - but the truth is: you are not missing anything when you are at peace with yourself.
You are, in fact, experiencing something rare.
The kind of rare that feels like this:
Going shopping by yourself and having fun.
Taking a walk and noticing things you’d usually miss.
Sitting at a coffee shop, working on your computer, not checking your phone, not waiting for someone.
Cooking something simple, lighting a candle, watching your favorite show, and calling that enough.
Enjoying your own company doesn’t mean you’re avoiding people.
It means you’ve built a home inside yourself that you like being in. A space that doesn’t feel empty just because it’s quiet.
& from that place?
You become better at showing up for others too. You become less dependent on external noise to feel full. You become someone who gives from overflow instead of depletion.
So if this season feels quieter than you expected—don’t rush to fill it.
Maybe it’s not emptiness. Maybe it’s spaciousness.
& spaciousness? That’s where you find freedom.
Freedom to just be.
Freedom to rest.
Freedom to know yourself in a way the world never taught you to.
So today, give yourself that gift:
A moment.
A pause.
A deep breath.
& your own very good, very trustworthy company.
This week’s gentle reminder:
The relationship you have with yourself sets the tone for everything else.
Make it one worth keeping.
love you always,
elle
