do something your future self will thank you for

hi friends!

welcome back to sunday goods!!!

let’s talk - for the past year or so, my quiet mantra has been: do something your future self will thank you for & after living with that mindset for a while, I’ve noticed, some days I catch myself smiling at the smallest things I did the day before.
not anything huge - just the fact that I prepped my veggies, or folded the laundry right away instead of letting it sit.

in those moments, I feel like giving past me a hug.

it made me realize how powerful the small choices we make each day really are!!!!

we tend to wait for the big milestones to feel proud of ourselves, but often it’s the quiet, everyday decisions — the ones no one sees — that make the biggest difference over time.

there’s a quiet kind of magic in the small things we do today that make life easier tomorrow:

*making the bed when you wake up

*plugging in your phone before bed

*laying out your clothes the night before

*paying the bill the day you remember it instead of putting it off

we spend so much of life chasing big moments, waiting to feel proud only after grand achievements.

but honestly -

future you is just as grateful for the little wins.

& then there are the bigger things:

*saving money even when it feels like a drop in the bucket

*moving your body even when you don’t feel like it

*choosing food that fuels you

*resting without guilt

*saying no to the plans you know will drain you

healing your thoughts, breaking patterns, starting over: all of it adds up & all of it counts.

sometimes, taking care of yourself today feels inconvenient, but one day, you’ll look back and feel the deepest kind of appreciation.

you’ll think: thank you for making it easier for me to show up now.

so here’s your reminder:

do something today, even one small thing, that your future self will thank you for.

not because you have to,

but because you deserve a softer tomorrow.

love you always,

elle
