be good company

Hi again! Glad to have you here for another Sunday!

I hope the week has treated you well. If not, that’s okay too—sometimes just making it through is more than enough! This week, I’ve been thinking a lot about the kind of energy we bring into each other’s lives. The people we surround ourselves with, the small ways we show up, and how much it all matters. So today, we're talking about what it means to be good company.

You ever meet someone who just feels good to be around? Like, their energy is warm, they genuinely listen, and they make you feel lighter without even trying? That’s good company. And being around people like that? It changes everything.

I recently got an unexpected package in the mail from a friend, and inside was a little kit labeled “Something to Celebrate!” It had a candle for emergency celebrations, a kind little note, and a reminder that I am something to celebrate. And honestly, it meant a lot - I don’t think I’ve ever been surprised with something so thoughtful before! Sometimes we don’t even realize we need that reminder until it’s right in front of us.

It made me think—how often do we tell the people we love how much they mean to us? How often do we make the people in our lives feel like they’re something to celebrate?

Why being good company matters

Life is heavy. Everyone is going through something, even if they don’t talk about it. And the people we surround ourselves with makes all the difference. Good company lifts you up, makes you feel safe, and reminds you of your worth—even when you’re struggling to see it yourself.

And being that for someone else? That’s just as important. You never know when a kind word, a simple text, or just being present can shift someone’s entire day.

How to be good company

Check in just because. You don’t need a reason to remind someone they’re loved.

Celebrate people. Life moves fast—take a second to hype up your friends, notice their growth, and tell them they’re doing great.

Be present. Put your phone down, listen, and actually engage. The little things matter.

Protect your energy. Surround yourself with people who make you feel good and don’t drain you.

At the end of the day, being good company is one of the best things you can do—not just for others but for yourself too. The way you show up for people creates a ripple effect, and I truly believe the kindness you put out always finds its way back. So as you go into this week, take a moment to check in, celebrate the people you love, and be the kind of presence that makes life feel a little lighter. Because the world could always use more good company—and it starts with us.

See you next Sunday. 💛

With care,

Elle
